1. What is the Gateway to Growth Programme?
The Gateway to Growth Programme is a five-session course for individuals who are no longer in abusive relationships. It is delivered one-to-one by trained facilitators and helps participants reflect on their experiences, build resilience, and plan for a safer future.

2. Who is the Gateway to Growth Programme for?
This programme is for people who:

Are no longer in a controlling or abusive relationship.
Feel ready to talk about their experiences and think about recovery in a safe setting.


3. What will participants gain from the programme?
By completing the programme, participants will:

  • Understand how controlling, abusive relationships affect them.

  • Recognise warning signs in relationships.

  • Learn ways to manage stress and build confidence.

  • Plan for a safer and healthier future.

4. Who can facilitate the Gateway to Growth Programme?
The programme can be facilitated by frontline workers who have:

Experience in supporting people affected by domestic abuse.
Skills to assess risks and create safety plans.
Knowledge of local and national support services.
An understanding of diverse cultural needs.


5. Do I need training to facilitate the programme?
If you already have experience working with individuals affected by domestic abuse, you can purchase the Facilitator Manual and Resource Pack to get started. If you don’t have the required experience, you can join our training course to gain the skills you need.

6. What is included in the Facilitator Manual and Resource Pack?
The Facilitator Manual gives step-by-step guidance for running one-to-one sessions. It includes:

  • Detailed session plans and discussion prompts.

  • Handouts for participants.

  • Advice for handling sensitive topics.

  • The Resource Pack contains:

  • Quizzes and myth-busting cards.

  • Safety planning templates.

  • Discussion cards on control cycles and warning signs.


7. How is the programme delivered?
The Gateway to Growth Programme is delivered on a one-to-one basis. This allows facilitators to tailor the sessions to the individual’s needs while providing a safe and supportive environment.

8. What training courses are available?
We offer two training options:

  • Gateway to Growth Programme Facilitation Training – For those who want to deliver the programme but need more experience or skills.

  • Domestic Abuse Awareness Training – For people who want a better understanding of intimate partner abuse but do not plan to facilitate the programme.


9. How do I enrol in a training course?

10. Does Phoenix Gateway offer direct support to individuals experiencing abuse?
No, Phoenix Gateway does not provide direct support or crisis services. We focus on training and resources for frontline workers.

11. Why is one-to-one delivery important for the Gateway to Growth Programme?

12. Can I access the resources if I’m not a facilitator?
The Facilitator Manual and Resource Pack are designed specifically for trained professionals to support individuals on their recovery journey. They are not intended for use without the required skills or experience.
